Just this past weekend we spent at a camp ground called Robin Hill in Lenhartsvill PA.The campground is beautiful and the kids love to fish.
On Saturday late afternoon there was a commotion by the creek.
A woman and her kids found a snapping turtle. Immediately, two men came down with sticks and shovels, poking this poor turtle who did no harm. At first they said they do this all the time and relocate them. But as they kept poking this poor turtle you can tell it would be no long before he would be killed.
We rushed to the office to complain about these two men and the office said they do it all the time and confirmed that the turtle would be killed because it may go up into the pond and eat the fish. The turtle they eventually go out of it's hiding place was huge. It took both men to use their shovels to pick it up and prior to that one of the men ran to get a bigger bucket. It had to be easily over 20 years old.
While they were poking at it they kid with the woman who found it saying "turtle soup". We were so upset about this that i'm writing in every web site i can find and maybe someone will see this and go further with stopping them. Later the Office Manager came to us acting like she had no idea what happen or who those men where she even asked what direction they went in. Then to find out she lied and i confronted her about it that the two men do indeed work there and that they kill these turles all the time.
We had a wonderful weekend til this happened and we are still very upset.A little girl with us was too very upset and kept asking her mother why someone would do such a thing and she replied " i don't know".
